International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS)
"As more jurisdictions adopt IFRS S1 and S2, companies across multiple industries now disclose their climate risks and sustainability impacts using the same reporting framework, making it easier for investors to compare how each company is managing the transition to a low-carbon economy."
Definition
The IFRS (International Financial Reporting Standards) are globally recognized accounting and disclosure standards that guide how organizations should prepare and present their financial statements in a consistent, comparable way.
The IFRS Foundation oversees the International Sustainability Standards Board (ISSB), which has issued sustainability disclosure standards: IFRS S1 for general sustainability-related financial disclosures and IFRS S2 for climate-related disclosures.
